Secretary’s Report - Cindy Seliga submitted the minutes from the May 5th meeting. Jen Boland motioned to approve as submitted, Jan Dedeke 2nd. Motion passed.
Treasurer’s Report – Treasurer was unavailable for the meeting. A brief summary of the financial status was provided by Gretchen. The account balance as of July 31, 2008 was $25,275.29. A full report for approval will be presented August 25th, 2008.
President’s Report -
- President – No report
- VP of Fundraising – The concession stands will be staffed 50% by Band Boosters and 50% by the Athletic Booster Club. The concession split is simplified based on a calculation of the net receipts after expense and startup funds then divided between the supporting organizations. A representative for every player will need to commit to a concession stand work period.
- VP Communications – Gretchen Gaskill noted that the website is bearcatboosters.com and reminded everyone to check the website periodically. Also, members should be receiving emails from the booster club. Please contact

- VP Team Relations – Jen Boland reported that she will be speaking at the football parent meeting on behalf of the booster club and its activities.
Athletic Director’s Report – Fall sports are kicking off: Volleyball, Football, Tennis, Golf, and Cross Country.
Committee Reports:
- Membership - Laurie Sheridan reported that the Booster Club membership is now at 28 for the 2008/2009 membership year. The membership form has been updated to include a web ad on bearcatboosters.com with the Orange membership. Please refer to the new membership form posted on the website for a complete list of membership options.
- Program – Fall Program is progressing nicely a few pages are still available for ads. Printing costs for the program will be incurred this year.
- Concessions – The Booster Club is currently seeking a concession chair and paid concession Friday night coordinator.
- Merchandise – Brenda Cheatham and Tammy Viken reported that new merchandise has been ordered and will be arriving soon.
Old Business -
- Tax Update – Cindy Seliga advised that the CPA has a package of tax information and has begun preparation of tax filing documents.
New Business - - Validation of Membership – Current membership is 28 members of which 13 members were present and 3 proxies submitted establishing a quorum of voting members.
- By-Laws – Gretchen presented 5 amendments to the By-Laws. Each current By-Law was read and then the proposed amendment was read with a vote taken separately for each proposed amendment. All amendments passed with a vote of 16 in favor and none opposed. Updated By-Laws will be posted on bearcatboosters.com website. A copy of the proposed changes and vote will be maintained in the Secretary's file.
- Funds Request – Coach Buchanan requested $3870 for boy’s basketball uniforms. Jim Cheatham motioned to approve and Jen Boland 2nd. Motion passed.
Team Reports -
- Golf – Fall season is underway
- Tennis – Several tournaments will be completed in the next couple weeks.
- Volleyball – Team has participated in 2 scrimmages and done very well.
- Cross Country – Fall season is underway.
- Football – First day of practice.
The next meeting date will be August 25th, 2008 at 7pm in the DLC.
