Aledo Athletic Booster Club Meeting31 August 2009 Present: Jen Boland, Chaz Brickmannis, Debbie Brickmannis, Joe Breshears, Coach Buchanan, Tim Carpenter, Brenda Cheatham, Lori Cook, Jan Dedeke, Gretchen Gaskill, Norman Gough, Craig Harbuck, Karen Hawkins, Chip Heiss, Laura Heiss, Marion Hissam, Venton Kocurek, Nancy Kocurek, Van Laird, Troy Little, Rob Lowe, Shawn Moke, Cathy Raines, Barbara Russell, Cynthia Seliga, Laurie Sheridan, Tammy Viken, Lindsey Watson, Craig Whisnand, Robbie Williams, Mike Williams, Donna Young and Rick Young. Secretary’s Report – Cindy Seliga submitted and motioned for approval of the minutes from the August 24th meeting as posted on the website. Craig Harbuck 2nd. Motion passed. Treasurer’s Report – Program Ad receipts received so far $23,137. Membership receipts are $5,125.00 and merchandise receipts $4,110.00. The account balance after paying the expected large volume of bills in August is approximately $12,000.00. President’s Report: - President – Rob asked everyone to help get the word out regarding Monday night Booster Club meetings. Rob shared with the group the new membership form and encouraged everyone to join. Participation is needed at many levels for the success of the club to meet its goals. Expansion to the Middle School is going great. Middle School parents continue to be encouraged to become active in booster club. A thank you note was received from K.K. Pittman, one of last year’s scholarship recipients, expressing appreciation.
- VP Fundraising – Concessions went well Friday night and a big thank you to those that participated. There is still more work to do and concession dates to fill.
- VP Communications – The new membership form is available on the website under the tab of “Join Now.
- VP Team Relations – Locker decorations went great, lots of donations. This week’s theme is “Lei them out”
Athletic Director’s Report – Coach Buchanan noted that this year’s seniors have never lost a game to Stephenville. Committee Reports: Membership – The new membership form is available. Currently there are 98 memberships. Membership breakdown is 47 AHS, 35 AMS and the remainder AHS/AMS. Program – The fall program looks great and sales went well. Look for programs at the next game. Merchandise – Merchandise Chair extends a big thank you to Jen Boland for her assistance at the game last week. Sales went well on Friday night. Brenda shared a display of the newest merchandise. Middle School – No report.
Old Business - None New Business - Team Reports- AMS Cross Country – First day of practice. Football – First football games will be on September 8. Volleyball – First matches will be played against Hughes on September 3. Team Reports - AHS Football – All teams played Stephenville; Freshman Black lost 0-6; Freshman Orange won 30-6; Sophomores won 24-0; JV won 36-6 and Varsity won 20-16. Next game Varsity game is home vs. Grapevine. Cheer – No report Golf – No report Tennis – Coach Russell reported that Varsity is 5 and 0 (undefeated). District play begins against Brewer on Tuesday, September 1. Volleyball – The San Marcos tournament takes place September 4th and 5th. Varsity recently played Mansfield and took 4 matches. Freshman A team is undefeated. Cross Country – Girls took 17th out of 58 teams in the Haltom 6-mile relay. Next meet is on September 4, the Burleson Elk Run. Swim – The swimmers will be working out at a new location, Tarrant County Northwest College, beginning on September 8. The first meet will be Tri-meet at Cleburne.
The next meeting date will be Monday, September 7, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. in the DLC. Meeting Adjourned
