Aledo Athletic Booster Club Meeting1 December 2008
Present: Jen Boland, Coach Buchanan, Brenda Cheatham, Bruce Frantz, Laura Heiss, Rob Lowe, Barbara Russell, Cynthia Seliga, Laurie Sheridan, and Craig Whisnand
Secretary’s Report - Cindy Seliga presented the minutes for the meeting of November 24th as posted to www.bearcatboosters.com. Brenda Cheatham motioned to approve as posted. Laura Heiss 2nd. Motion Passed.
Treasurer’s Report - Craig Whisnand presented the treasurers report as of November 30, 2008. Total deposits for the month of November totaled $19,970.07 and year to date deposits $79,825.64. In November, 24 checks were written totaling $11,829.62. Balance as of November 30th is $42,634.76. Fall receipts have been outstanding. Full report may be reviewed upon request. Bruce Frantz motioned to approve as presented. Laurie Sheridan 2nd. Motion passed.
President’s Report -
- President - Rob discussed the need to identify candidates for the open board positions.
- VP of Fundraising - No report.
- VP of Communications - No report.
- VP of Team Relations - “Friday Night Lights with the Bearcats” will be a community thank you on Friday December 5th evening at Bearcat Stadium. The community is invited to come to a fun event.
Athletic Director’s Report - Everything is going good. Soccer started today December 1, 2008.
Committee Reports:
- Membership - Membership is now at 163.
- Program - No report
- Concessions - No report
- Merchandise - Sweats and hoodies will be arriving soon. Look for these to be available at some of the basketball games.
Old Business - None
New Business:
- Coach Russell proposed that $2,518.00 be allocated for signs identifying Tennis District Championships and individual accomplishments. Jen Boland motion to approve the purchase of signage as noted in the presented cost quotes. Laura Heiss 2nd. Motion passed.
- Preparation of a slate of candidates for open board positions has not been finalized for nomination and vote. Several positions are still in need of candidates. Craig Whisnand proposed that the nomination and vote be postponed until January 5, 2009. Laurie Sheridan 2nd. Motion passed.
Team Reports -
- Basketball - Boys varsity is 2 and 1 with a tournament scheduled this weekend at Joshua. Girls play at home Tuesday against Denton Guyer.
- Cheer - Cheer will participate in a competition at Grapevine.
- Swim - No report
The next meeting date will be January 5, 2009 at 7pm in the Field House.
