Aledo Athletic Booster Club Meeting9th February 2009 Present: Coach Buchanan, Gary Collinsworth, Jan Dedeke, Alisa Davis, Kittie France, Bruce Frantz, Gretchen Gaskill, Lorraine Grillo, Craig Harbuck, Laura Heiss, Barbara Russell, Cynthia Seliga, Laurie Sheridan, Tammy Viken, and Donna Young
Secretary’s Report - Cindy Seliga presented the minutes for the meeting of January 5th, 2009 as posted to www.bearcatboosters.com. Laurie Sheridan motioned to approve as posted. Jan Dedeke 2nd. Motion Passed.
Treasurer’s Report - Report presentation will be March 2nd. The current data reflects that the balance as of January 31st, 2009 is $56,005.27.

Athletic Director’s Report - Coach Buchanan reported that www.rankonesport.com is a tool that is being set up to assist with online athletic scheduling. Information will be online regarding game cancellations and re-schedule dates, along with the current schedule. Currently several spring sports are loaded into the program with the intent to have all sports utilizing the tool by next year.

- Membership - Laurie reported that membership is now at 178.

- Middle school - Alisa reported that establishing a Booster Club presence at the middle school is progressing.

New Business:
- Election of Officers and Committee Chairs - Bruce Frantz nominated Craig Harbuck for the position of VP of Fundraising. Tammy Viken motioned to vote to elect Craig Harbuck as VP of Fundraising, Kittie France 2nd. The motion passed.
- Funds request for Softball - Gretchen presented a request to allocate $4,100 to softball for travel expense related to tournament travel expenses, varsity team backpacks, jerseys, warm ups, and softballs. It was noted that existing equipment is utilized by passing to the JV or Freshman teams. Laurie Sheridan motioned for approval and Lorraine Grillo 2nd. Motion passed.
Team Reports -
- Baseball - Parent meeting February 2nd.
- Basketball - Boys are tied for 3rd place and preparing for Springtown.
- Basketball - Girls play Springtown this week.
- Cheer - No report.
- Girls Golf - Competed in San Angelo, placing 10th out of 17.
- Boys Soccer - Undefeated in district.
- Girls Soccer - Undefeated in district.
- Softball - Softball has begun scrimmages. Tournaments begin next week.
- Swim - Girls and boys participated in the District Meet. Both teams are district champions. The regional meet preliminaries are this week. Twenty-six swimmers qualified for Regionals. Two school records were broken - the 200M boys relay and 100M boys breast stroke.
- Tennis - Tennis played in 3 tournaments in January, tying with Keller Central and Richland and beating Weatherford. Two more varsity tournaments will be played in February.
- Power lifting - Power lifting has won both of the meets that they have participated in.
The next meeting date will be March 2nd, 2009 at 7pm in the Field house.
