Aledo Athletic Booster Club Meeting5th January 2009
Present: Jen Boland, Coach Buchanan, Brenda Cheatham, Alisa Davis, Bruce Frantz, Gretchen Gaskill, Laura Heiss, Rob Lowe, Cynthia Seliga, Laurie Sheridan, Tammy Viken, and Craig Whisnand
Secretary’s Report - Cindy Seliga presented the minutes for the meeting of December 1st as posted to www.bearcatboosters.com. Bruce Frantz motioned to approve as posted. Laurie Sheridan 2nd. Motion Passed.
Treasurer’s Report - Craig Whisnand presented the treasurer's report as of December 31, 2008. Total deposits for the month of December totaled $17,331.33 and year to date deposits $88,110.97. In December, 13 checks were written totaling $9,648.51. Balance as of December 31 is $50,317.58. Jen Boland motioned to approve as presented. Gretchen Gaskill 2nd. Motion passed.
President’s Report -
- President - Rob announced that a Slate of Board Officers and Committee Chair candidates will be presented for vote.
- VP Fundraising - No report.

- VP Team Relations - No report.
Athletic Director’s Report - Basketball has started, and several other sports will be starting soon.

- Membership - Laurie reported that membership is now at 174.

Old Business - None
New Business:
- Spring membership - Craig Whisnand motioned that the Family membership rate be reduced to $20 for spring membership enrollees to accommodate the partial year membership. Gretchen Gaskill 2nd. Motion passed.
- New Middle School Relations Committee - Rob Lowe, President, presented the concept to establish a Middle School Relations Committee. Craig Whisnand motioned that a new Middle School Relations Committee be established in accordance with the By-Laws Article IX- Committee, Section 1, authorizing the President to appoint Committees as deemed necessary. Gretchen Gaskill 2nd. Motion passed.
- Election of Officers and Committee Chairs - Rob Lowe presented the slate of nominees for the Election of Officers and Committee Chairs for 2009. Two open positions still remain and activity to fill will continue. Group motion to approve slate as presented. Motion passed. The slate presented for vote by the board and elected is:

- Tennis - Season starts on February 8th with a match against Graham. Matches are also scheduled in January against Weatherford. The first tournament is scheduled for January 30th against Alvarado and Richland.
The next meeting date will be February 2nd, 2009 at 7pm in the Field House.
