Aledo Athletic Booster Club Meeting7 December 2009 Present: Joe Breshears, Coach Buchanan, Jim Carpenter, Brenda Cheatham, Lori Cook, Mark Cook, David Davis, Bruce Frantz, Mendy Frantz, Karen Hawkins, Laura Heiss, Russ Jones, Greg Jopling, Van Laird, Cindy Seliga, Laurie Sheridan, Sue Sprier, Tammy Viken, Mike Williams, Robbie Williams, and Donna Young. Secretary’s Report: Cindy Seliga submitted for approval the minutes from the November 30 meeting as posted on the website. Approval of minutes as posted passed on unanimous vote. Treasurer’s Report: No report. President’s Report: No report. VP Fundraising: No report. VP Communications: No report. VP Team Relations: Football locker room decorations are Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. Athletic Director’s Report: No report. Committee Reports: Membership – Currently there are 168 memberships. Membership breakdown is 98 AHS, 40 AMS and 30 at both AHS/AMS. Soccer parent meeting is December 8 and Laurie will represent the Booster club. Additional forms will be ordered to support Spring sports membership campaign. Program – None. Merchandise – Merchandise is rolling out another design “All We Want for Christmas is a State Championship” and those shirts will be available during school lunches. Middle School – No report.
Old Business: None. New Business: None. Team Reports – AMS: Basketball (Girls) – The 7th grade A and B teams beat Mineral Wells, the C team lost. The 7th grade A team took 1st place in the Hall tournament. Basketball (Boys) – All 7th and 8th grade teams won at Mineral Wells.
Team Reports – AHS: Basketball (Girls) – Defeated Stephenville by one point. Basketball (Boys) – Current record is 3-3 for varsity. Competed in the Joshua tournament finishing 3rd for a trophy. All-Tournament Honors were awarded to Ryan Talley. Varsity moves on to the Granbury tournament this weekend and JV and Freshman head to the Weatherford Tournament. Football –Bearcats advance to the Class 4A, Division II state semifinals with a 34-22 win over Everman. Next opponent is Denison at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 12, at Collins Stadium in Denton. Cheer – No report. Tennis – Next event for Tennis is January 15, 2010. Swim – Swimcats overall placed 2nd in the Cleburne dual meet. Next meet is December 11 and 12, the TISCA Preliminary and Finals in Frisco.
