Aledo Athletic Booster Club Meeting24 November 2008

Secretary’s Report - Cindy Seliga submitted and motioned for approval of the minutes from the November 24th meeting as presented on the website. Laurie Sheridan 2nd. Motion passed.
Treasurer’s Report - No report.
President’s Report -
- President - This will be the last every Monday meeting. The first Monday of each month schedule will resume on December 1st, 2008. The December 1st meeting will occur in the DLC, and then each monthly meeting will take place in the Field House. It is time to prepare a slate of nominated officers to fill the upcoming vacant board positions for vote in December. Several positions are open; please watch for an email with more details.
- VP of Fundraising - No Report.
- VP of Communications - For any web ads that were purchased and not yet incorporated into the website please contact Gretchen for information on ad submission.
- VP of Team Relations - “Community Thank You” information will be communicated as soon as the details are available.
Athletic Director’s Report - All sports are doing well.
Committee Reports:
- Membership - Membership is now at 163. Laurie requested notification of any upcoming parent meetings.
- Program - An assistant is needed for the Spring program.
- Concessions - 2 playoff games will be held on Saturday the 29th at Bearcat stadium. Groups are needed to work shifts at each of the 3 concession stands. Contact

Old Business - None
New Business -
- Coach Vierling and Coach Johnson presented the Digital Video Breakdown System. The system would provide the capability of creating video footage of soccer games that could be efficiently edited for teaching purposes, creating highlight videos and meeting recruiter requests. The system is highly capable and provides many methods for footage delivery including email and .wav files. The cost for the system has two elements. Game Breaker Plus Soccer Video Editing system $3,850 and Apple Education laptop $1,150. Tammy Viken motioned $5,000 be approved for Soccer to purchase the system as described. Laurie Sheridan 2nd. Motion passed.
Team Reports -
- Boys Basketball - Boys lost to Burleson but beat South Hills 59-49.
- Girls Basketball - Girls placed 2nd in Northwest Tournament.
- Cheer - Preparing for competitive season.
- Tennis - 11 schools participated in the annual JV tournament. 30 trophies were awarded, of which Aledo took 9.
- Soccer - Parent meeting is December 15th. The soccer tournament has expanded to 24 teams. Moritz is continuing to sponsor the event.
- Swim - No report.
- Football - Varsity lost to Everman 24-7 in the Division II area championship game. The Bearcats completed a great season as the “Undefeated District 6-4A Champions” and “Bi-District Champions”. The Bearcats are extremely well represented in the District 6-4A first team selections, second team selections, MVP, offensive and defensive newcomers, and honorable mention.
The next meeting date will be December 1st, 2008 at 7pm in the Distance Learning Center.
