Secretary’s Report - Cindy Seliga submitted and motioned for approval of the minutes from the September 29th meeting as posted on the website. Jan Dedeke 2nd. Motion passed.
Treasurer’s Report - Rob Lowe presented a motion to approve the treasurer report prepared by Craig Whisnand. The balance as of September 30th is $22,910.37. A total of 20 checks were written totaling $24,958.17 and 11 deposits were made totaling $13,914.00. Laurie Sheridan 2nd. Motion passed.
President’s Report -
- President - Rob discussed the need for parents to fulfill working a concession stand duty. There are still a couple of home games to be staffed along with merchandise. Parents are asked to contact the booster club to fulfill their concession stand obligation. At this time there has not been a volunteer for the Winter Program, which will potentially result in a Winter Program not being produced.
- VP of Fundraising - Help is needed at the last home games for concession duty.
- VP Communications - Gretchen asked that everyone continue to monitor the website for important information.
- VP Team Relations - Jen Boland reminds everyone that Tuesday is locker room decoration night.
Athletic Director’s Report - No Report
Committee Reports:
- Membership - Laurie Sheridan reported that the Booster Club membership is now at 148 for the 2008/2009 membership year.
- Program - No report
- Concessions - There is still a shortage of committed volunteers for concession duty.
- Merchandise - Merchandise sales have been brisk.
Old Business - None
New Business -
- Coach Buchanan presented a request for the purchase of a Laser Therapy machine for use in rehabilitation by the trainers. The cost is $4,122 and includes training. All sports will benefit from the purchase of the equipment. Maureen Bottom 2nd. Motion passed.
Team Reports -
- Golf - No report
- Tennis - Varsity is undefeated at 6-0. JV is undefeated at 5-0.
- Volleyball - Record is 29-6.
- Cross Country - Varsity girls placed 10th and the boys 9th at Eagle Summit and head to the Haltom Buffalo Stampede.
- Swim - No report
- Football -
- 7th and 8th grade teams all won
- Freshman black tied Azle 0-0
- Freshman Orange won 34-0
- Sophomores won 27-13.
- JV beat Azle 42-6
- Varsity beat Azle 42-0
The next meeting date will be October 20th, 2008 at 7pm in the Distance Learning Center.
