Aledo Athletic Booster Club Meeting

Secretary’s Report – Rob Lowe submitted for approval the minutes from the September 7 meeting as posted on the website.  Laura Heiss motioned to approve.  Joe Breshears 2nd.  Motion passed. 

Treasurer’s Report – Treasurer’s report: August deposits were $15,025.00.  Checks written in August totaled $20,731.53 and $900.00 was utilized as startup cash for Merchandise sales and Program sales.  Cash on hand as of August 31 2009 is $12,126.67.  Motion to approve, Joe Breshears. Laurie Sheridan 2nd.  Motion passed.  

President’s Report -

President – Rob discussed the upcoming community bazaar that is occurring on October 3rd  for the benefit of a community member that is fighting cancer.  The Booster Club will be staffing a merchandise booth at the bazaar and ten percent of the sale proceeds will go towards the benefit.  Volunteers are needed to staff the merchandise booth for this event.  Homecoming is next week.  The parade begins at 6pm on the 21st of September.

VP of Fundraising – No Report

VP of Communications – Migration efforts are continuing as planned.

VP of Team Relations – Cathy Zeeb has volunteered to be the contact point for the football Homecoming float.

Athletic Director’s Report – No report.

Committee Reports:

• Membership – Membership decals are available.  Members may pickup decals at the merchandise booth during home varsity games or request that the decal be mailed.  Updated membership totals will be available next week.
• Program – No Report.  
• Merchandise – Merchandise will soon include cool weather items, such as long sleeve T's.
• Middle School – Alisa asked everyone to reach out to the middle school parents that they know and encourage those folks to join AABC.

Team Reports - AMS:

• Cross Country – Cross Country’s first meet is September 16th at Brewer.
• Football – 8th grade A, B, and C all won against Burleson Hughes.  Next week 8th grade will play at AHS Bearcat stadium against Cleburne.  The 7th grade teams scrimmaged Burleson.  Next week 7th grade will be home against Cleburne.  
• Tennis – No report.
• Volleyball – 7th grade and 8th grade A, B and C all lost to Kerr. Next week the 7th grade travels to Mineral Wells, 8th grade home against Mineral Wells.

Team Reports - AHS:

• Football – Varsity’s rain-delayed game Friday went into OT, resulting in a loss to Weatherford 28-27.  
• Cheer - No report   
• Golf- No report.
• Tennis – Team Tennis won their match against Springtown, winning the maximum number of possible points.  A match against #7 state-ranked Abilene Cooper has been scheduled for Saturday, September 19, at 9:00 a.m., at Aledo.
• Volleyball – Upcoming matches against Azle and Birdville.
• Cross Country – Cross Country’s meet was rained out.
• Swim –The first meet will be Tri-meet at Cleburne.

The next meeting date will be Monday, September 28, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. in the DLC.
