Aledo Athletic Booster Club Meeting8 September 2008

Secretary’s Report - Cindy Seliga submitted and motioned for approval of the minutes from the September 1st meeting as posted on the website. Bill Swinney 2nd. Motion passed.
Treasurer’s Report – Rob Lowe reported that no checks have been written or deposits made since last week. The treasurer's report remains unchanged from the report presented on September 1st, 2008.
President’s Report -
- President – Rob opened discussion regarding the purchase of a sign-making machine with the accompanying software by the Booster Club. Rob discussed the need for an individual(s) to become the point of contact (POC) working with the VP of Team Relations. The Booster Club is seeking a POC prior to the purchase of the sign-making machine. The machine would be available to all teams for sign making. The investment cost would be less than $1,000. Please contact Rob Lowe or Jen Boland if anyone is interested or knows of someone who is willing to partner with the current volunteer in fulfilling this role.
- VP Fundraising – Volunteers are needed for concession duty this Friday night.

Athletic Director’s Report – Coach Buchanan reported that things are going very well.
Committee Reports:
- Membership - Laurie Sheridan reported that the Booster Club membership is now at 124 for the 2008/2009 membership year.
- Program – The program is at the printer and will be ready for the first home game. The program will be sold for $5 this year.
- Merchandise – Merchandise sales are going well. Please stop by the merchandise booth.
Old Business – None
New Business -
- Laura proposed that the Booster Club be authorized to spend up to $1,000 for the purchase of a computer software program and sign-making machine. 2nd Mike Williams. Motion passed.
Team Reports -
- Golf – No report
- Tennis – The first district match was against Brewer. Aledo won all 19 matches and is undefeated at 5-0. The current edition of Vype magazine features Aledo tennis players.
- Volleyball – No report
- Cross Country – Cross country runners are getting stronger with times improving.
- Swim - First swim meet is an outdoor meet against Cleburne.
- Football
- Freshman both teams lost
- Sophomore no game
- JV beat Grapevine 34-0
- Varsity beat Grapevine 37-14 in a great game
- Next Varsity home game is against Weatherford on September 12th
The next meeting date will be September 15th, 2008, at 7pm in the Distance Learning Center.
