Presentation – Chuck Mooney, an Aledo resident and Director of Sales with First American Payment Systems, made a presentation outlining a proposal to become the preferred merchant services provider for Aledo area merchants.  In exchange for this recognition, First American would have a customized program for the merchants in which they would either meet, or possibly beat, their existing credit card pricing.  In addition, First American would donate 20% of their profit to the Aledo Athletic Booster Club.  There is no additional cost to the merchant or consumer.  No expenses for the Booster Club.  A monthly donation would come straight from First American.  Mr. Mooney was thanked for his presentation. The issue was tabled for future discussion.  Booster Club by-laws must be checked to verify ability to enter into such an agreement.

New Business

Written procedures for funds
– Glenna Loftin - All requests for funds from each sport must first be submitted on an AABC Request/Requisition form.  These forms will be available from the website soon or can be obtained from Glenna Loftin.  These forms should be filled out by the coach of the particular sport and submitted to Coach Buchanan.  He will then determine what should be passed along to the booster club for discussion.

Softball – Coach Buchanan – requested $1,750.00 for materials itemized by Coach Cook.  April Zambreski made motion to approve, Nancy Brann seconded the motion.  Motion passed.

Coach Buchanan requested $150.00 to buy Jeff Garrison’s football season tickets.  A request was also made for funds to purchase a pair of the Aledo Bearcat boots to be presented to Mr. Garrison at the Spring Banquet.  These boots cost around $395.  Kitty France made a motion to allow up to $600 for the season tickets and boots.  April Zambreski seconded the motion.  Motion passed.

Coach Buchanan spoke about the new strength and condition program going into effect this summer.  The program will be given by Performance Course.  This program will include character development, mental preparation, nutrition, flexibility, speed, agility, strength and power conditioning.  Although the program will cost more than in the past, Coach Buchanan feels it is an excellent program and well worth the money.  This program is used by Southlake Carroll as well as other schools in the area.  The program uses professional trainers and will have a trainer/student ratio of 1:10.  There will be 3 courses available.  One for males in grades 10-12, another for girls only in grades 6-12 and the last for males in grades 6-9.  No student will be turned away because of financial reasons.
