Aledo Athletic Booster Club MinutesApril 9, 2007
Present – Jan Tracy, Kevin Jones, Debbie Day, Laurie Sheridan, Rebekah Bryant, Jan Dedeke, Terry Hix, Nancy Brann, Julie Odders, Pam Kemp, Cynthia Sadler, Brenda Cheatham, Mary Ann Loeffelholz, Glenna Loftin, Craig Whisnand, Tim Buchanan, DeAnn Jones Secretary – DeAnn Jones, correct name of Membership Chair to Laurie Sheridan and Merchandise Chair to Cynthia Sadler in the Minutes of February 1st meeting. Minutes of February 1st meeting approved with changes. Minutes of March 5th meeting approved. Motion made by Rebekah Bryant, 2nd by Mary Ann Loeffelholz. Motion passed.
Treasurer – Craig Whisnand, amended balance as of 02/28/07 is $41,434.15. Balance as of 03/31/07 is $40,949.26. Glenna Loftin reported that an amendment was made to the bylaws to add the proper wording in order to be able to get our Tax number. Motion made by Terry Hix and seconded by Kevin Jones to accept amended February bank balance and new wording in bylaws. Motion passed.
Communications –check out Booster Club website.
Fundraising – Merchandise – Rebekah Bryant reports that a lot of merchandise is being sold at the baseball and softball games. Proposed site of “Bearcat Store” under stadium is not suitable. Still a variety of merchandise available (not just football). Spring Program – has been taken to printer. Will proof, and then print.
Concessions – Have received monies from AISD. Will get breakdown by date so the money can be distributed to individual sports.
Membership – Laurie Sheridan reported that we have 203 members.
Team Relations – Mary Ann Loeffelholz reported that the spring banquet is scheduled for Monday, May 21st. Will begin serving at 6pm with the program beginning at 6:45 pm. Set up will be at 4:30 pm. Need pictures from boy’s basketball and power lifting. Also need auction items from each sport. Other auction items welcome.
Old Business
Legends of the Fall – Waiting for last minute information from Coach Buch, and then will print. First American Payment Systems – Coach Buch will check with Mr. Daniel regarding this.
New Business
Tennis Team funds of $1762 was approved in the fall. Cheerleading requests $1200 for mats. Motion made by Kevin Jones. 2nd by Rebekah Bryant. Motion passed. Football requests $1100 for gloves. Motion made by Kevin Jones. 2nd by Terry Hix. Motion passed. Golf Team - $500 for charter bus to regionals. Motion made by Nancy Brann, 2nd by Cynthia Sadler. Motion passed.
Team Reports
Baseball – 7-1 in district. Beat Stephenville twice!
Track – District Meet April 12th and 13th in Alvarado.
Golf – Boys were 1st and 3rd and girls 1st and 2nd in district. Regionals in San Angelo.
Tennis – Boys varsity won district. 5 players qualified for regionals in San Angelo.
Cheerleading – no report.
Softball – Won all district games, thereby winning district. Had last home game and senior night on Friday, April 6th.
Swim – no report
Power Lifting – no report
Soccer – girls and boys both lost in area playoffs.
Football – spring football begins May 7th. Date of spring game still to be decided because of SAT. 2-a-days begin August 13th.
The next Booster Club meeting will be Monday, May 7th at 7 pm. Distance Learning Center/Aledo High School
