Aledo Athletic Booster Club MinutesJune 4, 2007Present – Brenda Cheatham, Rebekah Bryant, Gretchen Gaskill, Laurie Sheridan, Penny Barrett, Glenna Loftin, Cynthia Sadler, Pam Kemp, Laura Heiss, DeAnn Jones, Tim Buchanan
Secretary – No changes to minutes for 5-7-07. Gretchen Gaskill made motion to approve. Cynthia Sadler – second. Motion passed.
Treasurer – Craig Whisnand, beginning balance from April statement is $37,645.50. Total deposits made in April - $9,686.94. Total bills paid - $12,111.50. Balance as of 5-31-07 - $35,220.90.
Communications –Gretchen Gaskill reported that she transferred the domain name registration, effective for 5 years. The fee for this is $72.54.
Fundraising –
Merchandise – Cynthia Sadler made a presentation outlining a plan for finding a permanent location for the Bearcat Spirit Shoppe, getting volunteers for the shop as well as in the lower schools, selling t-shirts at the high school on Fridays and the theme for next year. Cynthia also asked for input on different types of merchandise to order. The board agreed that Cynthia should be given a beginning budget and purchase items that she and her committee decide upon.
Fall/Spring Program – Rebekah Bryant reported that next year the programs should be done separately.
Concessions – Penny Barrett reported that she will need a contact person from each class/sport to help in getting volunteers to work. It was suggested that the board pay someone to close concessions after each home football game. Coach Buc will be checking with Mrs. Asay to decide on concessions for basketball games.
Membership – Laurie Sheridan reported that we have 204 members.
Team Relations – no report.
Old Business
Legends of the Fall – Was supposed to have been turned in today. Coach Buc volunteered to proof read. Will need to decide on how to distribute the books.
New Business
Money collected at the spring football games will be sent to the Texas High School Coaches Association benevolence fund. Gretchen Gaskill made a motion to send $900 to this association. Laurie Sheridan – second. Motion passed.
Pam Kemp requested $400 for banners (10 banners at $40 each). This expenditure has already been approved.
Team Reports
Football – The spring football games were a success – no injuries. 7 on 7 begins 6-5-07 in Aledo at 6pm. June 12th and 19th will be in Weatherford. June 26th will be back in Aledo. There will be a tournament in Grapevine on the 16th. Each player was given 2 t-shirts and owes $20 to Coach Buc. There are 2 varsity teams, 1 JV/Soph team, and 1 freshman team.
Performance Course begins June 14th with evaluations. First day to work out is June 18th.
2-a-days begin August 13th.
Every athlete must have a physical before participation on August 13th.
The next Booster Club meeting will be Monday, July 9th at 7 pm at the Field House. BOARD MEMBERS ONLY.
