Aledo Athletic Booster Club MinutesJanuary 15, 2007
Present –DeAnn Jones, Kevin Jones, Brenda Cheatham, Genna Loftin, Tim Loftin,Connie Whan, Debbie Day, Jim Cheatham, Penny Barret, Terry Hix, Pat Kemp, April Zambreski, Suzie Saint, Rod Saint, and Tim Buchanan.
Secretary –April Zambreski, Minutes of December 18th meeting approved. DeeAnn Jones made motion, Connie Whan seconded, motion was passed.
Treasurer – Rod Saint, Balance of $51,829.13
Legends of the Fall – Last day to order Thursday January 25th, April will send out separate email
Winter Program – Suzie Saint – On sale now at Basketball and Soccer games. Spring program discussed. Debbie Day, Connie Whan, Glenna Loftin and April Zambreski will see that it gets done.
Fall Banquet –January 25th Jennifer Bolin is in charge of banquet . Varsity fall athletes receive a complimentary ticket. Everyone else will pay $10 per ticket, the tickets will be pre-sold at the high school and be available at the door. Auction items will include: Aledo golf bag, 3 signed footballs
Old Business
Slate of Officers – Discussion of the interest generated so far. List will be announced at the banquet voted on the next meeting. Because of baseball conflict, the next meeting moved to Thursday February 1st.
Gym Concessions - Pat spoke with Mr. Daniel about this item and he referred Pat to Mrs. Asay. Because of new nutrition laws, it is not practical to keep the types of food items in a vending machine (the machines would have to be locked during the school hours and would be hard to keep fresh) She was okay with clubs selling food during the games. Point was made that this must be consistent commitment even though not much money would be made. This should be considered a service project. Also, drinks must be Dr. Pepper based due to contract stipulations
New Business
Memorial Donation- Pat Kemp – Discussion on contributing money and sending flowers to the Willie Fielder fund. Kevin Jones made motion to donate $1000 to fund and to send flowers to funeral, April Zambreski seconded it, motion passed. Pam Kemp will take care of both items.
Team Reports
Soccer – Coach Buchanan – The tournament was successful from the standpoint we made a lot of money, the weather made it necessary to change/ cancel some events. The Aledo boys tied Highland Park. The Aledo girls point wise won the tournament. Thanks to Mary Ann Loffelholz for all of her hard work on this project.
Basketball – Everyone playing hard although we keep running out of time before we can get ahead.
Track – Will be beginning soon
Baseball – January 29th first official day of practice
