Aledo Athletic Booster Club MinutesFebruary 12, 2007Officer/Committee Chair Meeting
Present – Gretchen Gaskill, Debbie Day, Rebekah Bryant, Laurie Sheridan, Penny Barrett, Glenna Loftin, Brenda Cheatham, Cynthia Sadler, DeAnn Jones
Items Discussed:
- Nancy Brann will be the softball representative. She will communicate with the Booster Club on needs, scores, schedules, etc.
- A Varsity “yard sign” coordinator is needed for the year. It was suggested that this would fall under Team Relations (Brenda Cheatham) who could either manage this herself or find a volunteer.
- Cynthia Sadler is working on new baseball/softball t-shirts and hoodies.
- Before any purchases are made by a booster club member, they must check with a board member to get approval. (This is to ensure that monies are available.)
- Gretchen Gaskill will be hosting and maintaining the web site. She is finalizing the layout and it should be up in the next week or two. Booster Club Officers and Committee Chairs email addresses will be listed on site.
- A request for a coordinator for the spring sports program will be sent out. Contact Rebekah Bryant if interested.
- The coach of each sport must make requests to Coach Buchanan for needs. Coach Buchanan will then determine if this is something to put before the Booster Club. He will then get this put on the agenda for the next meeting. Coach Buchanan or the coach of the sport will then make the request at the meeting.
- Cynthia Sadler has proposed getting a “Bearcat Spirit Shop” permanently set up behind the booster club concession stand at Bearcat Stadium. This would be used to store, as well as, sell merchandise. This will require some finish out work, and the request will need to be made either through Coach Buchanan or Mr. Daniel.
- Need to find out who will be cooking the after game meals during football. Is this person paid, etc?
Next meeting for Officers and Committee Chairs will be Monday, February 19, 2007, 7pm, fieldhouse.
Next Booster Club Meeting will be Monday, March 5, 2007, 7pm, Distance Learning Center (Aledo High School).
